Pumpkin Pecan Bread Pudding

Delight in the autumn flavors of pumpkin, pecans and warm spices from our seasonal Taste the Seasons Pumpkin Pecan Pie mix in this rendition of a sweet Louisiana-style bread pudding. Top with a delectable Caramel Rum Sauce to complete the flavors.


4 cups French bread, cubed, allow to dry overnight

3 eggs, beaten

2 cups half & half

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/2 cup sugar

1 package Taste the Seasons Pumpkin Pecan Pie mix


In a medium bowl, combine eggs, half & half, melted butter, maple syrup and sugar; blend in Pumpkin Pecan Pie mix.

Place French bread cubes into a greased 8 x 8-inch baking dish. Pour egg mixture over bread and lightly push down until bread is covered; let soak 15 minutes.

Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 45 – 50 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm with Caramel Rum Sauce (see recipe below).

Caramel Rum Sauce

In a small saucepan, stir together 3 tablespoons butter with 1/4 cup packed brown sugar over medium heat until melted and smooth. Add 1/4 cup heavy cream and 2 tablespoons dark rum. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until sauce is reduced and thickened.
