How it all Started

It all started years ago with my Easy Bake Oven as I discovered how to create simple, yet tasty, baked goods. Up until that time, I could be found pulling pots and pans out of the kitchen cabinets. I have fond childhood memories of cooking family dinners and baking desserts with Mom, trying new recipes that she would find in magazines and cookbooks and using the fresh harvest from Dad’s garden.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
During my teen years, my creations from the kitchen earned blue ribbons and grand champions at the annual 4-H county and state fairs. My interest in food led me to study food science and nutrition in college at Colorado State University. After becoming a Registered Dietitian, I continued my studies and earned a Ph.D. in Physiology at Louisiana State University. Cooking continued to be a loved hobby. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
             
I chose nutrition as a career path, specializing in heart health, and was in a position to take a lead role in the development of the  DASH Diet. I became keenly aware that healthy foods must also be delicious. At work and at home, I blended my culinary talents and nutrition knowledge to develop appetizing and wholesome foods and meals.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
After a 20-year career as a research dietitian, I decided it was time to launch my small specialty food company, Most Delightful Foods, to create food products that I could share with others.   
                        
By gathering ingredients that are full of flavor and beneficial nutrients, I developed a delicious and nutritious snack – Animae Mix. Then, using favorite recipes as a foundation, I combined dried vegetables, herbs and spices into Taste the Seasons cheese spread and dip mixes. I enjoy exploring the versatility of my seasoning mixes by endlessly creating recipes for flavorful foods. My desire is that these foods bring to you much delight and dining pleasure as they have to my friends and family.
